Baby Led Weaning – Cheese Ravioli with Sausage & Peas
Embracing Baby Led Weaning on busy work days has been a game-changer for me, especially with the ease of preparing cheese ravioli with sausage and peas. This dish, a favorite in our household, is not only nutritious but also a perfect example of an easy freezer prep meal. The blend of soft cheese ravioli, savory sausage, and sweet peas offers a delightful combination of flavors and textures, ideal for my baby’s developing palate.
When it’s time for lunch or dinner, I can quickly retrieve a portion from the freezer, confident in providing a well-balanced meal. This approach of Baby Led Weaning also proves invaluable when I need to leave my little one with caregivers. I simply pack this wholesome meal, adding some fresh fruit on the side for a burst of natural sweetness. The convenience of this method ensures my baby enjoys a variety of tastes and nutrients, while I enjoy the simplicity and efficiency of meal preparation. It’s a practical solution that supports my baby’s independence and dietary needs, making our daily routine smoother and more enjoyable.
On my blog, there are tons more baby led weaning options. Like spaghetti, alfredo, or this breakfast idea!
Ingredients
- 1/2 25oz bag Frozen Cheese Ravioli
- 1/2 16oz Jar Spaghetti Sauce
- One Bag Frozen Steamable Peas
- 2 Apple Chicken Sausages (Target has great All Natural Chicken Apple Gouda Sausages)
How to
I purchased frozen cheese ravioli, spaghetti sauce, all natural apple chicken gouda sausages and a bag of frozen steamable peas to make this baby led weaning meal.
It only costs about $7 for the ingredients that I used and about $11.50 total for the ingredients. I created 14 meals for less than $7!
- Fill a pot about 1/2 full of water and start it on high until it comes to a boil.
- While waiting for it to boil, cut up the sausages into slices then dices. I cut each slice into 6 pieces.
- Meanwhile, start the peas in the microwave according to the bag directions.
- Once the water is at a boil, put in about half of the bag of frozen raviolis.
- Cook according to bag instructions (mine was about 6 minutes). Then drain.
- Rinse the ravioli off so that they are cool to the touch and not sticky.
- Cut the ravioli into quarters.
- Finally, get 4-6oz containers and fill them with sausage, then pasta, peas then top with the sauce. I did roughly 8 pieces of sausage and ravioli and 2 spoonfuls of peas and sauce.
So simple and perfect for baby led weaning training. So much cheaper than the prepackages baby ravioli too!
