These savory pockets of joy are not only a crowd-pleaser but also a breeze to make. Begin by rolling out a simple dough, and then generously stuff it with layers of savory ham, gooey cheese, and a hint of aromatic herbs. As you assemble these pockets, involve the kids for a fun family activity.

Ready to Bake Ham & Cheese Pockets

Ingredients

  • 2 Sheet Puff Pastry
  • 1/2 cup Shredded Cheese (recommend Gruyere)
  • 1/2 cup Diced Ham
  • 1 Egg Well Beaten
  • Medium/Large Cookie Cutters

How to

  1. Set the air fryer to 400. (I have an air fryer in my oven so I used that). If you use a cookie sheet, line it with parchment paper. (If you don’t have an air fryer, this can still be done in the oven, you’ll just want to extend your time a little)
  2. Roll out your puff pastry and cut out your shapes! I opted to use a cookie cutter for the men and hand cut the tree. Feel free to hand cut both.
  3. Next, fill with cheese and ham. Leave room on the edges.
  4. Place the non-filled crust on top to create a pocket. Then, crimp the edges with a fork.
  5. Brush the egg wash over the top of the formed pockets and add ham for decoration, if desired.
  6. Put in the air fryer and cook for about 6 minutes or until crust is cooked.

The recipe is so cheap and fun for the whole family. Check out my breakfast pizza to use the rest of your ham & gruyere cheese!
