Ingredients
- 1 Sheets Puff Pastry (room temperature)
- 2-4 Tbsp Strawberry Preserves or Strawberry Pie Filling
- 1/4 Cup Nutella
- 1 Egg Well-Beaten
- Flour for dusting
- Large Tree Cookie Cutter Optional
- Cookie sheet
How to
- Preheat oven to 400 and line baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Flatten out the puff pasty on a floured surface and roll out as needed.
- Cut out Christmas Trees out of the puff pastry. You can use a cookie cutter or make a paper template. Make sure you have an even number at the end.
- Transfer half of the trees to the cookie sheet and brush the beaten egg on all the edges of the dough. This will act as glue for the top tree
- Next, place Nutella and strawberry filling into the tree. Feel free to just leave this in a lump in the middle, it will spread out as it cooks. Make sure to leave all edges open with enough room to push the top tree over top.
- Add the top trees and push all edges together tightly.
- Brush the tops with the rest of the egg wash and put in the oven.
- Cook for about 12-18 minutes or until slightly brown on top.
- Allow to cool on baking sheet for 10 minutes.
- Once cool, use a piping bag to drizzle any remaining Nutella and strawberry over top. Feel free to decorate to your heart’s content!
